Accreditation

Recently, the Master Programme in Medical Informatics obtained accreditation from the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), the leading organisation in medical informatics in Europe and represents 32 countries, including Portugal, and which aims at the development and promotion of this area, promoting the highest “standards” in terms of teaching.

“This accreditation will give an international projection to all MIM alumni who come now recognized by EFMI as the course that allowed them to obtain skills in the area of Biomedical and Health Informatics”, says Ricardo Cruz Correia, professor at the FMUP and director of MIM.

The accreditation of the Master in Medical Informatics is the culmination of a process that integrates five criteria: needs and relevance of the programme; intended learning outcomes; academic/teaching-learning environment; organization and implementation and internal quality assurance and development.

MIM obtained satisfactory in all these criteria, which earned it accreditation for three years (2022-2025).
